| Midsummer's Eve |
[Jun. 21st, 2009|02:47 pm] |
We had a BBQ at my place on Midsummer's Eve...unfortunately Bella ( ofinns) couldn't come due to unexpected circumstances, but I got to see Frida ( shizuka_85) and Maria ( shibahime) who I hadn't seen in a while and we had a good time together with my other friends Filip, Anders, Kim and my BF Daniel.
I was sporting my new half wig and Bodyline hairpiece, as well as my H&m dress that I've worn time and again already but haven't really posted any pictures of. Some of you may have seen a couple of these already from Frida's daily_lolita post.

| Happy Swedish National Day! |
[Jun. 6th, 2009|01:15 pm] |
At a recent party with relatives, one of my younger cousins broke out; -"Ugh I want to move abroad..." -"So did I, when I was your age" I replied. That is one thing that has come with age for me, realising just how well off we are here in Sweden. I'd rather live here and travel often than acctually live abroad, not that I wouldn't try it for a while...but in the long run I still feel like Sweden is a pretty good place to be.
10 Random Things You Might Not Know About Sweden/Swedes
 1. We are among those that drink the most coffee in the world. 2. We almost always take our shoes off when we enter someone's home, but unlike the japanese it's not common courtesey to have slippers to offer to your guests. 3. We are the second most internet-connected country in the world. 4. Our tap water is so clean that even some bottled water doesn't meet the same standard. 5. Housewives are very uncommon. 6. We subtitle foreign tv programs rather than dub them and start learning english in school from second grade and therefore around 89% of the swedish population can speak english. 7. We are a monarchy, but the royal family does not really have any power, they are more like ambassadors. The official name for Sweden is "The Kingdom of Sweden". 8. We have not been directly involved in a war in over 200 years. 9. The zipper is a swedish invention, so is dynamite and the pacemaker. 10. The Nobel Prize is handed out in Sweden, except for the peace prize...which is handed out in Norway due to a union we used to have with them over a 100 years ago.

| Oh My Dita! |
[May. 17th, 2009|10:06 pm] |
Ok, so Frida and I watched the Eurovision Song Contest, together with her brothers and her boyfriend last night....and when it's time for the 17th song, Germany's entry, the swedish commentators suddenly tell us that they had apparently flown in Dita von Tease to perform during their song...
And we both gasped and looked at each other. Dita von Tease? ON EUROVISION?????!!!
Hell, who cares about the songs anymore....JUST GIVE THE PRIZE TO DITA!!!
She's just elegantly in the background until about 2.13....
Well, in the end they didn't win....the right song did, Norway (aww isn't he adorable, in a little brother kind of way?), but man.....Dita von Tease sure did make it worth watching the whole 3,5 hour long contest. |

[May. 12th, 2009|06:32 pm] |
Ok, so I haven't really been excited about the Matthew Williamson collab with H&M....but oh man...I love this new commercial so much I almost want to buy something just because of it.

| Hilfe! |
[Apr. 28th, 2009|10:55 am] |
Ok, I REALLY need a haircut. But I keep putting it off because I seriously can't decide what to do with my bangs!! The rest of the hair I'm going to cut shorter, maybe about shoulder-length, and layer a bit. But the bangs....either I keep it long like it is now (althrough trimmed a bit) so I can continue to make small rockabilly-ish pomadours like this/this, or I go back to the thick, straight bangs I used to have once upon a time.
What do you think? ^^ Please give your input!

| Gone for the weekend |
[Mar. 25th, 2009|07:43 pm] |
How the outcome with Selma will be is still unsure, the vets say they don't think the injury on her other eye is serious and that it's caused by her eye becoming dry during the time her other eye was infected and swollen...but my mother is still unconvinced that it won't turn out just as bad. Also it seems that my grandfather that has been poorly for a long time has taken a turn for the worse and will be under night watch tonight and might even pass away.
But tomorrow I am going away to Stockholm for the weekend. It's a trip together with the loliteers that has been planned for weeks - a semi-celebration of my recent birthday, quality fun time and most importantly a visit to the Vintage Fair. I am quite good at supressing things that make me feel sad or worried (which is in the end not so good for me I guess) so I hope I'll be able to have a lot of fun, even with all of the things that has been going on. I hope the rest of the group will be able to too, as they have had their share of bad times themselves. |

5 things that shibahime associate with me...
1. Hana Yori Dango
Lol, wut? Ok, Frida is the one who got me hooked on that j-drama series. It's a great series, but after watching that horrible ending movie it has been slightly tainted in my eyes and other j-dramas has surpassed it. I wish I could have those 2 hours of my life back. But hey, Matsumoto Jun sure is hot.
2. Humour
Ok, this has got to be because of one of two things. Maria and I both enjoy the same kind of nerd humour, and I just recommended The Big Bang Theory to her, probably the best sitcom ever made IMO. Or, the fact that I laugh at everything remotely funny when I'm in a good mood as it becomes more of a way to let my good mood out than the actual hilariousness (is that even a word?) of the event/person/whatever.
3. Dogs
My family has had dogs for as long as I can remember. Pancho the Newfoundland, Ego the Tibetan Spaniel, Ebba the Boxer, Cleo the Rottweiler and the latest addition, Selma the French Bulldog. We've had other animals too, two rabbits and a cat. We would probably have a cat now too if it weren't for that both my little sister and I have developed allergies.
4. Literature
No surprise here. I've been a bookworm ever since I was little, my father used to take me to the library once a week and at one time I was even in one of those book clubs that send you a book of the month that you have to pay for. My favourite genres have always been fairytales, ghost stories, fantasy and vampires....but I was also a huge fan of "The Five" books and Nancy Drew when I was in 4-6th grade. I've also studied english lit. as a part of my english studies at my local college, written a 12-page long essay on the meaning of names in Nabokov's "Lolita"...and also recently read through Twilight just so that I could see what the fuss was about and give my own opinion on it.
5. Sophisticated taste
Hm, self explanatory I guess? When it comes to clothes and accessories I'm kind of anal when it comes to mixing and matching and I've always been drawn to more mature looking styles that gives you a ladylike appeal...also have never really been comfortable with being too much over the top. As for having sophisticated taste in some other area, I don't know if I do....you tell me.

| Help me get my fashion fix, please! |
[Mar. 12th, 2009|01:07 pm] |
Is there possibly someone, not that I think there is, anyone in the UK on my friends list willing to act as a shopping service?
Frida found this amazing Primark dress for me on ebay.co.uk, and the seller refuses to ship outside the UK even though I begged her to reconsider. *shakes fist at lazy seller*

| We will call her "Selma" |
[Mar. 9th, 2009|10:06 am] |
Meet little Rottline's Kyo (yeah the breeder gave them all japanese names that they picked after their meaning XD), the new member of our family. She is a feisty but also very sweet little creature, generous with kisses but torturing poor Cleo the Rottweiler's tail with her pinpoint sharp teeth, totally unaware of their difference in size.
( For those of you who haven't had enough of pictures of puppies... ) |

| Breeder Visit |
[Feb. 21st, 2009|01:54 pm] |
Around 12 hours in a car in one day for a mere 1 hour visit. But it was all worth it. My mother has put a deposit in for one of these adorable little darlings, the breeder will choose for us when they are 8 weeks and that little French Bulldog will join our family in the beginning of march. I can't wait!!
My pictures are allmost all a little blurry, as I didn't want to use my flash and they were moving around constantly...
( Some more pictures under here... )

| Party and games! |
[Feb. 8th, 2009|08:32 pm] |
Went to Kalmar to party with Frida and Maria. ^^ After sqeezing in plenty of food, cake and shopping we went back to Marias place to play card games and party a bit before going out to a club. There were quite a lot of drinking...and a lot of fun...but maybe a bit too much of the first for one in our lovely trio. But still, pleenty of fun!
In my lovely new cardigan from H&M...cute don't you think?
Even though we took like 10 of them during the night, we somehow still didn't end up with a single good groupshot...but I kinda like this one anyway.
Sorry for not using a cut, but I'm tired and working the new LJ-cut system is just too annoying. |

| Taste converter...in a fruit! |
[Jan. 22nd, 2009|10:37 am] |
Miracle fruit sounds so cool! I wish I could get ahold of some just to try...I'm sure my mother would enjoy trying it out too as she has been complaining about that metal taste in her mouth from the chemo. |
